Raymond Allemand

Lewis Raymond Allemand, “Raymond,” was born to Jack & Helen Allemand in Casper, WY on June 22, 1936. Raymond’s first 3 years of life were spent on the family homestead known as Jack’s Ditch located on the pine ridge north of Casper.

In 1939 Jack & Helen purchased the home place known as the Allemand Ranch, where Raymond grew up, lived and raised his family. His big joke was that he’d had the same address for 60 years.

Raymond attended Natrona County High School, graduating in 1954. From there he furthered his education at Colorado A & M. He then married the love of his life, Donna Rae Strand, on Nov. 5, 1958. In that same year duty called, and he joined the United States Army moving to Mt. Clemens, MI, where their first daughter, Gay Lynn, was born.

In 1961, Raymond & Donna moved their family back to the Allemand Ranch, had 2 more daughters, Pam & Perri and continued that way of life, running both cattle and sheep. Later in life an oil field construction company was formed and continued through the early 80’s. Raymond worked endless hours on both the ranch and the construction company providing a great life for his family.

Raymond was well known for being a smart, but tough businessman. He also loved to drink, dance & have fun, always being the life of the party. He had a loud, contagious laugh…. everyone knew when he was in the room. Two of his favorite sayings were, “Work hard, play hard” and “One drinks, we all drink.” He was also famous for giving you a “patch” when your drink got low. Raymond also enjoyed traveling, visiting every state in the union except one and having been to every state park except one.

He will be remembered for his generosity, having helped many people throughout his life and still helping his family up until his last breath.

Raymond was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna; his second wife, Elva; his third wife, Sharon Bernard; and his sister, Jackie Tolman. Remaining family members are Gay Lynn Byrd; son, Cory Byrd; daughter, Gina Dickerson (Hazen) and their four children; Pam Hubbard (Tom); dogs, Ricki & Belle; Perri Wheeler (Shannon); son, Miles Werner (Alicia), their 2 children; brother, Donald Allemand (Billie,) their four children and numerous nieces and nephews.

Raymond passed away peacefully at his home in Wickenburg, AZ, surrounded by his family and caregiver Melissa Hildreth (Missy). Missy was the last blessing in his life bringing him much happiness, known by dad as his “Angel.”

Pallbearers are Cory Byrd, Miles Werner, Tom Hubbard, Shannon Wheeler, Hazen Dickerson and Bud Fenster.

Honorary pallbearers are Jack Koland, Virgil Malhum, Don Gibbs, Donald Allemand, Jerry Obermueller and his many friends.

Graveside services will be held at Highland Cemetery on August 10, 2026 at 2 pm. Reception following at the Ramkota from 3-6 pm.
