Linda Peterson

Linda Marie Peterson passed away on October 23, 2025. She was born on December 27th 1947 to Richard Svoboda and Mattie “Ruth” Brady. During the course of her life, she met and married three wonderful men, who all played ;a significant role in her journey; Norman Daro, Roy Peterson, and John DiIorio. As daughter Mikki liked to joke “She sure knew how to pick ‘em she just didn’t always keep ‘em.”

Linda’s greatest joy and source of immense pride for her was her family, which consists of her former husband, John DiIorio, her children; Mikki (Richard) Mason, Jennifer Horning, Annie (Cortney) Graham; Grandchildren; Amanda (Lane) Fischer, Taylor (Tanner) Miller. Wyatt Mason, Maddie and Owen Horning, Chayse and Cainen Graham, and Great-Grandchildren, Rigby Fischer and McCoy and Merle Miller.

Linda didn’t always have the easiest life, and she didn’t always choose the perfect path, but she was a fiercely proud and intelligent person who worked hard to get what she wanted and to raise three daughters, largely on her own. She worked right up until the day she fell ill, and she was equally proud of the work she did at Menards in her final years, as she was working as an LPN in her younger days.

Some of the things that her family will miss and treasure the most about Linda (aka G-L:inda or “Big Grandma”) are sloppy kisses straight on the mouth! She loved the color yellow, frogs, salt, sunshine, fishing, sushi, scrabble, gardening and reading. She always had a glass of the sweetest green tea with her and she would share the last drop with her grandkids and great grandkids, through her lipstick-stained straw. She would never let her hair turn grey and she always had the most current fashionable wardrobe (if monochromatic, at times!) She never met a stain she couldn’t remove, and she had a huge green thumb! Amanda and Taylor will never forget the trips to Disney Land and the Butterfly Pavillion with Grandma Linda and Grandpa John. She didn’t even try to curb her road rage, and let’s just say that an election cycle will never be the same without her here! She was an excellent cook and it’s hard to imagine that we could ever attempt to perfect her homemade chicken and rice soup, grits and eggs, giblet dressing at Thanksgiving or gizzards and rice (southern specialties!). No topic was off limits for a conversation with G-Linda, sometimes unfortunately for her grandkids and their friends. Oh and let’s not forget – the donkey calls. (If you ever attended a sporting event for one of her grandkids – you know just what we mean!)

Linda was preceded in death by her mother and father and her beloved brother Rick. She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as her sisters, Cindy (Mark), Lisa, Lynda(Bill), brothers, Danny (Sarah), Christopher, Michael (Meaghen), Travis (Shawna), numerous nephews and nieces and too many friends to count.

Finally, Linda is survived by her former husband, John DiIorio. He remained to the end – her best friend, companion, staunch supporter, and someone she could always rely on.

Linda will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 29th at 4:00 PM at Bustards Funeral Home. A reception will follow location to be announced. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Central Wyoming Hospice.
