Frankie “Lynn” Burgess

Lynn Burgess, 74, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Central Wyoming Hospice after a long battle with leukemia and complications post hip surgery.  He was a life-long resident of Casper, Wyoming.

He was born December 13, 1949 in Casper, Wyoming; the son of Frank A. Burgess and Mildred J. Tiffany.

Lynn attended Garfield Elementary School, Dean Morgan Junior High and was a 1968 graduate of Natrona County High School. He attended Casper College.

His work history included the restaurant business, uranium mining, and the oil field industry.

Lynn worked in his parent’s restaurant, Lynn-Lees Steakhouse.  He continued in the restaurant business working at The Viking and the Blue Ox Supper Club. He was an equipment operator for Petrotomics Mine in Shirley Basin, Wyoming. Mechanic work at United Parcel Service, Power Service, owned Lyn-Jan Rig Repair, worked for Denton Brothers Drilling, GATX Leasing, and Fab Tech. He owned and retired from Burgess Rig Repair. 

He served in many capacities for the Casper Boat Club and was Commodore for three terms. He loved boating and fishing. An avid hunter, with his love of hunting inspired by his Uncle Carl from Alaska.  

He married Cheryl Denney shortly after graduation and had two sons: Todd and Trent.  They later divorced. He married Renee and adopted her two children: Robbie and Amber. Survivors include:  His dear friend Dave McMahan.

Son; Todd Burgess and wife Jennifer, of New Caney, Texas. Grand-Children Rebekah and wife Lexie, Anthony, Ashleigh.  Great-Grand Children; Carson and Landon. Son; Trent Burgess of Porter, Texas.  Grand-Children; Heather, Bryce and Brooke. Great-Grand Children; Rayvn, Ryatt. Daughter Amber Jividen and husband Ken, Grand-Son; Rhett of Casper, Wyoming.  Son Robbie Burgess and family of Wyoming. Brother Lee Burgess and wife, Terry of Casper, Wyoming. Nephews: Kevin Burgess and wife, Chelsea of Parker, Colorado and their children Adelaide and Declan. Andrew Burgess and wife, Lindsey of Big Piney and their daughters Syndey and Avery. Preceded in death by parents:  Frank & Mildred Burgess
