A memorial service celebrating the life of Margaret Mary Scott will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 14th, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Casper, Wyoming. Margaret passed away peacefully on July 24th, with her daughter Linda by her side at Red Mountain Reflections in Mesa, Arizona.
Born on December 5, 1925, on her family’s ranch in Shirley Basin, Wyoming, Margaret was the beloved daughter of Lawrence and Nell Sullivan. She spent her early childhood on the ranch and attended school there through the fourth grade before continuing her education in Denver, where she attended Catholic elementary and high schools.
Following graduation, Margaret returned to Casper and began a long career with Mountain Bell Telephone Company. As a devoted single mother, she poured her heart into raising her three children—Tom, Joe, and Linda—while also nurturing a successful professional life. Her home was a haven not only for her own children, but also for their friends, who found plenty of delicious home-cooked meals around her table. Margaret ensured they were well nourished and had a place to crash on Friday nights, so on Saturday morning they were available to work at the family ranch.
After retiring from the phone company, Margaret continued to serve her community with a kind and generous spirit. She worked in the NCHS kitchen, where she prepared meals for students each day. Never one to stop growing, she later earned her real estate license—passing her exam on the first try—and joined Arrow Realty. With her natural charm and heartfelt care for people, real estate proved to be a perfect fit. Margaret had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, and her bright smile could light up any room.
While she enjoyed her work and friendships deeply, Margaret’s greatest passion was the Catholic Church. A devoted servant of Christ, she was an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, always ready to lend a hand wherever there was a need. Her life was a beautiful reflection of her steadfast love for God and others.
Margaret was preceded in death by her sister Cecilia, her brother Jack, and her son Tom. She is survived by her son Joseph, daughter Linda, extended family members Martin Sullivan (Yvette Sullivan), Bill Doling, and Pat Knittel, along with many dear friends whose lives were touched by her grace and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Margaret’s memory to St. Anthony’s School or to hospice care organizations, whose compassionate support made her final days peaceful. A reception with lunch will be held immediately following the service at the church. All who knew and loved Margaret are warmly invited to join in remembering a life so richly lived and deeply loved.
