Marsha Jean Stoumbaugh, 87, passed away on March 5, 2026, at home in Casper, surrounded by her loving family.
Marsha was born in Langdon, Missouri, on November 29th, 1938 to Woodrow W Murry and Eulola Marie Sarno. She lived for a short time in Nemaha, Nebraska, before her family moved to Denver, Colorado, making that their home. She attended West High School.
On June 1st, 1955, she married Gailen Stoumbaugh in Brighton, Colorado. They had four daughters from this union. They moved their family to Casper, Wyoming, in 1961. She was a stay-at-home Mom until her last child started school, then started work at Control Data. Marsha began her long banking career at First Interstate Bank moving up to lead teller and vault teller. She made many friends over the years, some even requesting her by name.
Marsha is a member of Mount Hope Lutheran Church. She had a strong faith and loved the Lord.
She enjoyed camping, reading, crocheting and Brazilian embroidery.
Her true passion was her family and loved having her home filled with everyone anytime but especially during the holidays. She had a gift of always comforting and supporting everyone who came to her. She knew the right things to say. Marsha was a beautiful soul, so full of kindness and true sweetness. Her family loved her endlessly and will be missed beyond words. We know she is in the presence of Jesus.
Marsha is survived by her husband of 70 years, Gailen, her daughters: Gayle (Dennis), Johnson, Casper; Peggy Thornock, Aurora, Colorado; Debby Melvin, Casper; and Sandy (Mike) Lindahl, Casper. Grandchildren: Georgia Henderson, New Braunfels, Texas; Raychel (Dean) Duncan, Denver, Colorado; Adam (Brittany) Johnson, Casper; Kayleen (Dustin) Ferguson, Casper; Amanda (Eli) Backman, Kemmerer, Wyoming; nephew David Gallegos, Berthoud, Colorado. She is survived by 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Patricia Gallegos, and nephew Steve Gallegos.
