Mary Ann (Bateman) Woodward passed from this life to eternal life on the morning of Thursday, July 31, 2025, after a brief illness fighting a very rare and aggressive cancer. She fought the good fight and finished her race, and now and forever will be in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ - she has her crown!
Mary Ann was born in Evanston, Wyoming, on November 15, 1954. She was primarily raised by her grandmother and learned many lessons of life from her. She went to elementary, middle, and high school in Evanston. Her high school years found her in drill team, 4-H, and home economics which helped shape her young life.
On June 28, 1975, she married her sweetheart and love of her life, Dave Woodward. On June 28th of this year, they celebrated 50 years of marriage. On their honeymoon they traveled the State of Wyoming looking for a job for Dave. They settled in Casper, and it was here that they decided to begin their life together. In 1977, they were blessed with twin daughters after they were promised by the doctor that it would be a big, healthy boy. Nichole and Danielle rounded out the family.
Mary Ann and Dave started a heating/cooling business in 1980, and with Mary Ann’s firm grip on the checkbook it started to thrive. They sold the business in 1990 and invested in real estate; Mary Ann ran a business of 23 apartments. In 1995, they started another heating/cooling business that was sold in 2013. These were very busy years. They sold out and bought a winter home in Arizona and have enjoyed being out of the Wyoming wind all winter long.
Mary Ann was passionate about Christ. She took her call to discipleship seriously and passed along the Good News to many including her children and grandchildren. She was the leader of a women’s Bible study which averaged 400 women every week. She lived and breathed the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the truth of the Holy Bible.
Some of her other passions included snow machining, scuba diving in many exotic places, four-wheeling and camping in the mountains, traveling around the world, and was an expert seamstress. She loved a good glass of wine, a good book, and good music. Mary Ann was a master Halloween costume maker, Campfire Bluebird leader, Bible camp counselor, Sunday school teacher, roller coaster expert, amazing homemade chicken noodle soup cook, and the MOST fun “Meemaw Day” planner!
In retirement she discovered golf and became a very good addict of the game.
Her devotion to her girls as a stay-at-home mom and later to her grandchildren was unmatched and the joy of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Dave; her children Nichole (Adam) Hall and Danielle Zenisek; her grandchildren, Zoe Zenisek, Josiah and Faith Hall; and many much-loved nieces and brothers- and sisters-in-law.
We would like to give our sincerest thanks to Central Wyoming Hospice & Transitions, Cornerstone Care Giving, and Bustard & Jacoby Funeral Home who took care of our wife and mother with excellence.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Bustard and Jacoby Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will be held after the funeral. However, all are welcome to an open house reception which will be held at the Air Innovations building at 5000 CY Avenue from 4-6 p.m. that evening.
With broken hearts but joyful souls we say goodbye (for now) to the most wonderful, elegant, caring, kind, witty, and gracious lady we have ever known.
