Mary Alfonsa Patton-Houghton

Mary Alfonsa Patton Houghton, 89, of Casper, Wy, passed away on March 26, 2026.

Mary was born on May 19, 1936 to Juan Gonzales and Rosabel Lucero and grew up with 11 brothers and sisters.

She had 8 children and is survived by her 7 children, 18 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grand children.

She relocated to Casper, WY where she resided for over 60 years.

Her commitment to her faith and her Catholic Church community was unwavering as she took part as a Eucharistic minister, participated in the prayer line, and spent numerous hours in the adoration room. She was professed to the Secular Franciscan Order in 2001.

For many years, she volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

Mary was very vocal and physically animated while viewing the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoons, and most of all loved her walks and reading.

She went on many sister reunions and enjoyed coordinating, matching outfits and activities to assure they had a marvelous time together.

She loved family get-togethers, and enjoyed cooking for everyone and she made the best tortillas and pot of beans…EVER!

Our beloved mother, grandmother, will live in our hearts forever!

There will be a visitation at 5 PM on Monday April 6 immediately followed at 6 PM by a Rosary at Bustard and Jacoby Funeral Home, 600 CY Ave, Casper WY. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday April 7, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 1401 CY Ave, Casper WY. Burial will follow in Highland cemetery with a reception and luncheon at the church at 12:30 PM after the committal at the cemetery.
