Mary Walford

A Memorial Service for Mary Adele (Smith) Walford will be conducted on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 11:00 am at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2300 E 15th St, Casper, WY. Reception immediately following the service. Mary was born Oct. 9, 1929 in West View, a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA. Raised and educated in West View, after graduation from West View High School, she went to work for 7 years as a Secretary in the Executive Office of the H.J. Heinz Company. In 1953 she was united in marriage to William Walford, and their lives took them to homes in Nebraska, Louisiana, and Wyoming. Mary continued to work as a Secretary after their children were grown. She loved meeting all the folks she came in contact with. She passed away at the age of 96 on June 4, 2026 in Casper, Wyoming.

Mary was a member of: Prince of Peace Lutheran Church; Daughters of the Nile, Tamah Temple #73, Tamah Egyptians; Ladies of the Petroleum Club; and Fort Caspar Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. Survivors include her husband William; two sons, Donald (Linda) of Gilbert, AZ, and James (Kathy) of Cheyenne, WY; daughter Melanie (Mark) of Rapid City, SD; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and her husband, a sister in law and her husband, and a niece. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Bustard’s Chapel. Burial will take place at the Black Hills National Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Casper Humane Society in honor of Mary Walford.
