Mary Ware

November 3, 1944 — June 6, 2010

Mary Faythe Ware "Toots" Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Mary Faythe Ware passed away on June 6, 2010 at Central Wyoming Hospice Program in Casper, WY at the age of 65 after a valiant 5 year battle with cancer. She was born on November 3, 1944 in Williston, ND to Carl and Della Salveson. As the youngest of seven children and the only girl, she was the apple of her brothers' eyes - they promptly nicknamed her Toots for the song "Toot Toot Tootsie" that was popular when she was born. She graduated from Ray High School as the salutatorian of her class, attended Concordia College for one year, and returned to UND-Williston, where she received her Associates Degree in secretarial science. She met her future husband and soul mate, Shelly during her senior year in high school. Shelly and Mary were married on June 26, 1964 at the Ray Lutheran Church in Ray, ND. After several job related moves, t hey made their permanent home in Casper in 1980. They had three children; Michael, Michelle and Jeremy. In 2009 Shelly and Mary celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in grand style, sharing their love and legacy with over 200 of their family and friends. Mary was an amazing woman with many interests. She was a woman dedicated to caring for her family and friends and serving her Lord. She thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and spent a lot of time camping in the Big Horn Mountains with her family. She also loved to travel and visited no fewer than 38 of the lower 48 states, as well as Hawaii. In her last 3 years, she had the opportunity to visit Norway and England (twice) where her daughter currently lives. One of her passions was flowers of all kinds - her "babies" graced the front and back of her home, as well as the inside, blooming beautifully for months under her tender care. She is survived by her husband, Shelly; her three children, Michael (Katherine) of Magna, UT, Michelle (Robert) of Stoneleigh, England and Jeremy of Shelby, MT. She is also survived by her brothers, Curtis (Karen) of Williston, ND and Lloyd (Glenda) of Farmington, NM; six grandchildren - Cody, Kimberly, Tyler, Lexi, Josh and Jack - and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held at Bustard's Funeral Home on Sunday, June 13th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Her services will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2300 East 15th Street in Casper, on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 10:00 AM with a graveside service immediately following at Highland Cemetery. Donations in Mary's name can be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Hymnal Fund, Central Wyoming Hospice Program or to the American Cancer Society.
