Melissa Diane Sellers, 58, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Frank Chapman Hospice in Casper after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Melissa was born on March 8, 1968, in Casper, Wyoming, to Ted and Pat Sellers. She graduated from Kelly Walsh High School with the Class of 1986 and went on to build a career as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist. Her work took her to Fredericksburg, Virginia; Minot, North Dakota; and eventually back home to Casper, Wyoming. Throughout her career, Melissa was known for her caring nature and willingness to help the many patients and coworkers whose lives she touched.
Melissa was a Christian who believed in our Savior, Jesus Christ, and her faith was an important part of who she was.
Those who knew Melissa will remember her for her unique personality, generous heart, and wonderful sense of humor. She proudly proclaimed herself the “favorite Aunt Melissa” to her many nieces and nephews and loved being part of their lives and watching the next generation grow. She could often be recognized behind the wheel of her yellow Kia Soul, complete with its unmistakable giraffe window sticker.
Melissa enjoyed playing bingo, and she shared that love with her grandmothers, mother and sister, who preceded her in death. She was also an avid NFL fan, with the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs among her favorites. She especially enjoyed vacationing in Las Vegas, making memories along the way.
Melissa was preceded in death by her mother, Pat Sellers; her sister, Dee; and her bingo-playing grandmothers.
She is survived by her father, Ted Sellers; her two siblings; her many beloved nieces and nephews; and the following generation of her family, who will carry her memory forward.
Melissa will be deeply missed by her family, friends, former coworkers, patients, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her caring spirit, humor, love of family, and unmistakable yellow Kia Soul will remain fond memories for years to come.
A memorial service celebrating Melissa's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at College Heights Baptist Church in Casper, Wyoming with lunch following at the church. A reception will follow at the home of Melissa's father, Ted Sellers.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who knew Melissa to remember her by sharing a story, a laugh, or a favorite memory of the woman who was so proudly—and lovingly—the favorite Aunt Melissa.
