Metta John Martin joined our Lord on June 4, 2026, passing away comfortably at Central Wyoming Hospice & Transitions. A strong believer, she is now in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Metta was born on May 26, 1933 in Casper, Wyoming to John E. and Coula J. Roussalis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands William C. Nicolaysen and Robert H. Martin, and her brother, Louis J. Roussalis, M.D. She is survived by her son Terrance R. Martin and grandson Hugh R. Martin, and her daughter Kolette N. Palacios, her granddaughter Sara M. (Palacios) Horn, her husband Ryan A. Horn and great grandchildren Lovey K. Horn and Kolyon A. Horn
Metta was a graduate of Beaver College in Glenside, PA. She loved the theater, was a gifted pianist, and had a beautiful voice. She found much joy in utilizing her talent as a long time member of the Casper Fine Arts Club. She cherished her Casper and was a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels for several years, and served on the social Committee for the Casper Chapter of the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) Sisterhood. A master in the kitchen, Metta enjoyed sharing her extraordinary culinary talents with family and friends. She will be truly missed but she leaves a legacy of faith and love for others who’s lives she touched.
A Trisagion followed by the Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1330 E. C St, Casper, WY 82604, with Father Daniel Payne officiating. A Committal Service will follow at Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Metta’s memory to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church PO Box 1465, Casper, WY 82604 or Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions, 319 S. Wilson St., Casper, WY 82604.
