Michael John Maglione of Bar Nunn, WY left this world to be with his Heavenly Father on July 15, 2025 at Wyoming Medical Center following a cycling accident. He was 74 years old.
Michael was born in Concord, Massachusetts on December 2, 1950 to Mary Castrichini and Michael Maglione. He was raised in Maynard, Massachusetts and graduated from Maynard High School in 1969. He enlisted in the Air Force at the Boston Naval Shipyard in July of 1969 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant at Tampa, Florida in July 1973. Following his service, Michael graduated from East Coast Aero Tech and was certified as a helicopter and jet mechanic. He always credited the Air Force for finding the occupation that he loved and continued throughout his lifetime. Living in Hudson, Massachusetts he worked for Digital’s Corporate Flight Services for ten years. In 1977 he married Joanne Way with whom he had three children. They were later divorced.
In the mid 1990’s he moved to Casper, Wyoming to accept a position with the Federal Aviation Administration where he had a 25-year career as an Aviation Safety Inspector. He fell in love with Wyoming’s open spaces, great fishing, abundant wildlife, mountains and friendly people. In 2000 he began his relationship with Linda Robinson, and they married in 2014.
Michael was funny, loving, protective and kind. He hated “crowds”, meaning any gathering of greater than six! He loved to cook (and eat), fish, tinker and rebuild things, work with wood, ride his bike, work out and walk his dogs. He never met a dog he didn’t love. The backyard he created with his wife, Linda, was complete with handmade furniture, birdhouses, flower gardens and a pond all wrapped with a fence like the love he gave to all he adored. It was his favorite place where he watched the birds and squirrels, making sure they were all well fed. Michael often said he had no desire to travel as he felt his eutopia was at home. He treasured time with old friends and adored his children and grandchildren. Each year there was an MLB package purchased so he would never miss a game of his beloved Boston Red Sox.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Maglione of Bar Nunn; son Michael Maglione (Monica) of Northridge, CA; daughter Jennifer Maglione (Jake Marshall) of Westminster, MA; grandchildren, Natalie and Lillian Marshall of Westminster; grandchildren Penelope and Miles Maglione of Northridge; and brother Peter Maglione (Gretchen) of Palm City, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Heather (2024).
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on August 29, 2025, in the chapel at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery with Father Jacobson officiating. Cremation has taken place, and the internment will be at Oregon Trail. Bustards Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Casper Humane Society (849 East E Street, Casper, WY 82601) or Paws of War (https://www.pawsofwar.org) to help Michael’s beloved furry friends.
