Mildred Ann Pickard (Lilienthal) peacefully passed away June 3, 2025 in the arms of her loved ones at the age of 86.
Mildred was born to Veronica (Fannie) Peters and Theordore Henry Lilienthal, in Miles City, Montana on August 27, 1939. While in Miles City she completed the majority of her education and met the love of her life, before graduating high school in Sheridan, Wyoming.
After marrying her high school sweetheart, Claud Pickard, Mildred spent time living across Montana and North Dakota, to support her husband’s career before eventually residing in Casper, Wyoming since 1979. Mildred, with Claud by her side, raised a beautiful family, Dennis, Mark, Marilyn, and Tom, and instilled values of faith, love, and family in each of their four children and both found this to be their greatest achievement in life.
At her core, Mildred’s family meant everything to her and that was reflected in how she spent her time and energy each day. She worked tirelessly to love and support both her children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren. Whether it was prom, football and baseball games, band, dance recitals, or even late nights completing school projects, if there was a way to show support, she was there without a second thought.
Mildred was blessed to travel the U.S. and Europe although the highlight of her travels was arguably their annual trips to Disneyland where she delighted in taking each grandchild on the Dumbo and It’s A Small World rides.
Holidays were always special as Mildred would go out of her way to include everyone whether it was her family, or someone in need of family. Hand-in-hand with her daughter, she found excitement in shopping to find the perfect gift for those she loved. She made an effort to shop all year around for Christmas or birthday gifts before wrapping each gift with care and joy in the
hopes that everyone would feel loved and valued. She found immense joy in being able to bring her family together at her home for a fun game of Encore or a beautiful present exchange.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Claud Pickard; parents, Fannie and Theodore Lilienthal; brothers, William and Rick Lilienthal; son, Claud Dennis Pickard.
She is survived by her children; Mark Pickard (Lanae), Tom Pickard (Julie), Marilyn Barella (Anthony Paul) of Casper; and daughter-in-law Mary Pickard Price of Houston; and 13 loving grandchildren: Bethany Pickard (Weiler), Brittany Pickard (Polk), Nathaniel Barella, Brettlynn Pickard (Stark), Jonathan Barella, Jennifer Barella, Megan Barella, Daniel Pickard, Katherine Barella (Corson), David Pickard, Stephanie Barella (Winfrey), Anthony Barella, and Natalie Barella; and many great-grandchildren.
