Milton Lee (Milt) Clark: 77, of Casper, Wyoming
Passed away on April 17, 2024
Milton Lee Clark was born on February 26, 1947 to Joan and Wilbur Clark of Casper, Wyoming.
“Milt,” as he was called by those who knew and loved him best, lived his whole life in his hometown of Casper, graduating from Natrona County High School in 1965.
Shortly thereafter, he formed The Milt Clark Trio and began his musical career – one that would last, literally, until his final days.
Milt worked at Prairie Publishing as a salesman and a designer by day, musician by night. He played upwards of two to three gigs a night, for the better part of 20 years.
Milt and his band were locally famous and were the most popular pick in town for weddings, reunions, private parties and any other events one could imagine.
He married Jody Solley in 1979, and his daughter, Sommer, was born in 1982.
Aside from his music, Sommer was his pride and joy. The bond he shared with his daughter was always a special one, and the time spent with her and her family was one of his most cherished pastimes.
Milt’s purpose, however, was undeniably his music. His professional career was cut short due to debilitating chronic pain, and he was forced into early retirement at the age of 40, but that didn’t deter him from playing his heart out for another 37 years.
Milt lived to play for an audience, and was always convinced that there was nothing better than live music. His ambition, drive, and dreams of playing for large crowds never did waiver, and he spent the last decade of this life playing music every Monday afternoon for the beloved residents of Garden Square Assisted Living of Casper, where he spent the last years of his life building community, creating memories and enriching the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Milt was a kind, loving, eternal optimist of a man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Sommer; son-in-law and two grandchildren, Tom, Kellan, and Elise; his sister, Sunny; “adopted son,” Phillip; as well as two other nephews, Darrel and Brett, and their children: Cara, Carissa, Joseph and Connor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Joan Clark and his sister, Sandy.
Funeral services will be held at Bustards Funeral Home on Thursday, April 25th, at 2PM.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Garden Square of Casper and Central Wyoming Hospice for their partnership, support, and the most compassionate of care towards Milt in the last years/days of his life.
