Muryl J. Underwood, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 82. She was born on June 24, 1941, in her hometown of Casper, Wyoming to Lester and Naomi Rogers.

Muryl had a fulfilling career that spanned several decades. She began working at the Gladstone Hotel and Troy Dry Cleaners before moving on to join the food service team at Casper College. Even after her retirement, Muryl continued to stay active by working part-time at American Lenders Service, Blue Ribbon Awards, and the KMart eatery.

Among her many passions and interests, Muryl had a great love for crafts and ceramics. She enjoyed spending her time camping along Smith Creek with her husband Roy and could often be found hunting or fishing alongside him. After Roy's passing, Muryl embarked on numerous camping trips to Casper Mountain with her sister Shirley. Additionally, she cherished babysitting her grandchildren and tending to her beautiful yard. In recent years, Muryl found joy in participating in activities at Garden Square, especially bingo.

Muryl's proudest accomplishments included serving on the Evansville Town Council and being a devoted member of the Evansville Good Neighbors Club for over 50 years. Her dedication to her community was truly admirable.

Muryl was predeceased by her parents Lester and Naomi Rogers, her beloved husband Roy Underwood, as well as her sisters Roseayle, Vivian, Irene Rogers, and Shirley Garriott.

She is survived by her loving son Cliff and his wife Janelle of Evansville. Muryl also leaves behind a foster daughter Helen Miles and husband Garnatt from Wichita, Kansas. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren JoAnn Underwood (Jon), James Underwood (Lindsay), and Nicole Harned (Ronnie), as well as her great-grandchildren Jackson and Izabella Underwood, Tucker and Jackson Underwood, and Brooks and Ayva Harned. Muryl was also survived by her sister Lillian Rogers and brothers Joe and Chancey Rogers. She had numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who all held a special place in her heart.

To honor Muryl's life, a visitation will be held on September 21, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bustard and Jacoby Funeral Home located at 600 CY Avenue in Casper, Wyoming. The funeral service will take place the following day on September 22, 2023. It will commence at 10:00 AM at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, Wyoming.

Muryl J. Underwood will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family and community will forever be cherished. May she rest in peace knowing that her legacy of love and compassion lives on through those she leaves behind.
