Nathan Replogle, Jr. Obituary March 21, 1924-December 20, 2016 Funeral services will be held for Nathan Replogle Jr. (Rep), on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 2PM at the Oregon Trail Veteran's Chapel located at the Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, Wyoming. Rep was born on March 21, 1924 in Torrington, WY to Nathan Guy and Maude Replogle. He grew up in southeastern WY and went to high school in Lingle, WY where he met his future wife, Lois Baker. They were married on April 12, 1942 in Lingle, and remained married for 64 years until Lois died on April 12, 2006. Rep worked in the iron mine in Sunrise, WY after high school before joining the Navy and serving on an aircraft carrier, the USS Admiralty Islands, during World War II from 1944-1946. He returned to Lingle following his discharge to be with his wife and son, Dick. He began his career with the Bureau of Reclamation where he worked on dams and power plants up and down the North Platte River, including, Seminoe, Kortes, Alcova, Guernsey, and Glendo. During that time, he served as the first Superintendent of the Glendo Dam and Power Plant. He and Lois lived in Glendo from 1954 until 1973 when they moved to Casper. He retired several years later. Rep was an active member in the local American Legion and VFW organizations during his time in Casper and thoroughly enjoyed playing pool. He was quite good and participated in many tournaments. He and Lois also loved fishing, having lived near several good reservoirs for fishing. They were avid campers and lived for the times when relatives would come to their house to go out camping by the lakes. And, of course, he and his brothers and sister and other family members and friends all enjoyed a beer or two during these camping events. Rep was predeceased by his parents, Nathan Guy and Maude Replogle, his wife, Lois Replogle, his three brothers, Dale, Glenn and Gene Replogle, and his great grandson, Christopher. He is survived by his sister, Mildred Israel of Scottsdale, AZ, his three children, Dick Replogle of Cheyenne, WY, Sandra Witt (Eldon) of Wheatland, WY and Dennis Replogle (Maureen Hesney) of Avon, CT, and his companion, Norma Nelson of Casper, WY. His survivors also include seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Donations in Nathan's name may be made to the V.F.W. Post # 9439 at 1800 Bryan Stock Trail, in Casper.
