Norma L. Cody

October 7, 1955 — July 18, 2025

Norma Lee (Nicholls) Cody, aged 69, of Buffalo Wyoming passed away on July 18th 2025 in Casper Wyoming.

Norma was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Norman and Marilyn Nicholls on October 7th 1955. She grew up as a “military brat”, moving multiple times throughout her schooling due to her father’s military assignments. She graduated from La Junta High School in Colorado. She had a knack for book keeping and accounting, and worked primarily in those fields. Norma had a passion for spending time in the Black Hills of South Dakota with her family and friends at the cabin her family had helped build in the 60’s. The family cabin was a special place to her and she focused a lot of her retirement years maintaining her family’s property by working on projects, and soaking in its majestic beauty. Norma was a stranger to no one and could easily make a new friend were ever she ended up in life. She enjoyed working with her hands, and in the Wyoming winters she enjoyed building military model airplanes. A lot of this inspiration came from her father who served in the Air Force and flew on B-52s. Norma was a loyal servant to God, to her family, and to the many friends she had. She was always present in the lives of her children and grandchildren, and cared for them deeply. Norma will be deeply missed by many.

Norma L. Cody is survived by her sons Nicholas Cody (wife-Andrea, daughter-Alexandrea, son-Weston) and Christopher Cody (wife-Chandra, daughter-Elyn, and son-Van), her sisters Sue Ellen Smith (husband Robert Smith) and Sally Lambert (husband Paul Lambert) sister-in-law Lori Nicholls and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Norman and Marilyn Nicholls and brother John J.P. Nicholls.

Norma was cremated per her wishes and will be taken to the Black Hills of South Dakota where she would like her ashes placed. This will be a private celebration of life for her immediate family.

In leu of flowers, the family has set up the Norma Cody Memorial Fund at First Interstate Bank. Those that would like to make a contribution can do so at any First Interstate Bank or can mail checks to First Interstate Bank at PO Box 2990 Casper, WY 82644, paid to “Norma Cody Memorial Fund”. The memorial fund will be used to ensure that the family cabin she loved so much is maintained for generations to come. The cabin will be a place where family and friends can visit her and share the stories that she enjoyed. We want to thank everyone for their continued thoughts, prayers, and contributions.
