Normadyne "Norma" Ehler, born on August 27, 1935, in central Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on August 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was just short of 91 years old. Norma's remarkable journey through life was characterized by her tenacity, handcrafting skills and a zest for life that touched all who knew her.

Born to parents Norman and Esther Weiland, Norma and her brother Gary, grew up in a family that supported the community grocery needs. This upbringing inspired her lifelong passion for bookkeeping, cooking and handcrafts, which she shared with her family, church and community.

Norma married Leland Ehler and this union produced three sons, Kyle, Steven and Perry during their 50 year marriage.

Though she never pursued a college degree, instead choosing to engage herself in homemaking and on occasion, part time jobs and at one time as university teacher, tutoring students in keyboard skills.

Norma was preceded in death by her son Steven and her parents Norman and Esther Weiland, and husband, Leland Ehler.

She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory and the lessons she imparted, particularly her mantra that quitting was never an option.

Norma's gentle demeanor and humor were as vibrant as her quilts and cross-stitching, which she lovingly crafted.

Her energy and spirit were a source of inspiration, and her laughter a balm to those around her. She lived life to its fullest, embodying resilience and strength.
