Norman Ray (Nomad) Rennich, 73, of Casper, Wyoming passed away on September 29th, 2025 at the Banner Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming.
Norm was born in Lemmon, South Dakota to Walter and Bernice Rennich on August 3rd, 1952. He bought his first motorcycle at 14 and never looked back. Norm graduated from Lemmon High School and joined the Army National Guard where he was honorably discharged after achieving the rank of Specialist in 1977. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in many states before settling in Casper, WY.
When he came to Casper, he had purchased his first Harley Sportster. With the purchase of every new motorcycle, it was bigger and faster and took him further away from home and he never looked back. His love of motorcycles led him to join several motorcycle clubs that shared the same passion. Amongst these, he was a founding member of the OutDwellers MC where he remained friends with all the members after the club dissolved. This did not shadow his love for his grandchildren and teaching people to ride motorcycles which was his true passion. One of his goals in life was to own a Harley for every day of the week; at the time of his passing he was in possession of 7 motorcycles. He once built a 1970 Chopper in the basement on the pool table; where he told his sons friends when asked how he would get it out, “throw a wet blanket on it and burn the house down.” In stead of burning the house down, he made Bert carry the chopper up the stairs for him. He rode his motorcycle come sun, rain, snow, or wind… the only thing that stopped him was an icy road- unless one of his kids needed to borrow his truck for the entire winter.
He worked for the City of Casper in the cemetery and then transferred to the street department. He worked at the city for 30 years. When he retired in 2016, he took a month to ride his motorcycle all over the country, just to “get lost”. When he returned to Casper, he went to work for the Natrona County School District as a Substitute Bus Driver where he received his 10 Year Service pin. His favorite past times were riding his motorcycle, going on drive abouts with Darlene and spending time with his grandchildren. He rarely missed a special occasion for any of his loved ones.
Norm was loved by many and was a friend to all. He never met a stranger and every child he was with became a grandchild for life.
Norm is survived by his sister, Dorothy Bartholomew; and brothers, Ron (Barb), and Jerry (Mary); wife, Darlene; his daughters, April (Larry ), Briley, Molly (Gary), & Torry (Jeremy); son, Billy; grandchildren, AJ, Zach, Loral, Lateva, Izaiah, Devan, Autumn, Olivia (Matthew), Garrett, Chloe, Brody, Brandon, Jared, Alyssa, Marius & Milly, several great grandchildren, and many other people he adopted along the way. He is preceded in death by his son Ronnie Ray Rennich, daughter Sherri Daugherty, and his parents.
Funeral service will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Casper, Wyoming on October 4th, 2025 at 10:00 am with Pastor Bert officiating.
