Patricia Dawn Bicknese

May 25, 1936 — May 26, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia Dawn Bicknese, lovingly known as Patsy, announces her passing on May 26, 2026, in Casper, Wyoming. Surrounded by her family, she passed away peacefully just one day after celebrating her 90th birthday. She was born on May 25, 1936, to Stanley G. Stockdill and Myrtle L. Stockdill (Capon) in Oamaru, New Zealand. Patsy lived a life marked by love, devotion, and quiet strength. She will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her.

On March 2, 1957, she married Neal W. Bicknese in Sydney, Australia, marking the beginning of their beautiful journey through life together. They met in Christchurch, New Zealand where Patsy was completing her Karitane Nurses training and Neal was serving in the United States Navy Seabees unit, on his way to the Antarctic for Operation Deep Freeze I. They spent less than a week together and Neal proposed before he went on his 18-month deployment. During his deployment, they wrote beautiful love letters to one another. Upon his return, he asked Patsy to meet him in Sydney, Australia and they married four days later. Neal and Patsy created a lifetime of memories and extraordinary adventures. Through their 69 years of marriage, they saw the world and traveled across the country in their fifth-wheel trailer.

Patsy brought love and beauty into the world through her faith, creativity, and care for others. As a longtime member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, she was guided by a strong and enduring faith. She was a talented seamstress, knitter, and quilter, she lovingly made sweaters, blankets and clothing for her family and friends. She also found joy in gardening, taking pride in her beautiful flowers and picture-perfect yard.

Her legacy lives on in the family she loved so deeply. She is remembered by her husband Neal and their four children; Dean Bicknese (Fritzi), David Bicknese (Gloria), Robert Bicknese (Shelby), and Annette Crain (Steven), her seven grandchildren; Kyle Gilbert, Nichole Hubenka (Matthew), Sarah Webb (Michael), Shea Bicknese, Aaron Bicknese (Taylor), Ashton Ritchison (Aaron), and Isaac Crain (Megan), and her seven great-grandchildren; Brody, Avery, Reece, Peyton, Nicholas, Layne, and Maddox.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Stanley G. Stockdill and Myrtle L. Stockdill (Capon), brothers; S. Bruce Stockdill, Russell C. Stockdill and R. John Stockdill, grandparents; Robert Stockdill, Lillie Stockdill (Timpson), John J. C. Capon, Sarah E. Capon (Good).

A memorial service will be held on June 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. In memory of Patricia, donations can be made to the Orr’s Hope Foundation. Patricia had a love of yellow flowers and was adamant they be planted in the church garden and featured at her memorial service. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will remain a blessing.
