Patricia Ann (Burgess) Bochmann was born August 2, 1928 to Willard W. Haines and Margurite (Rettalack) Haines in Casper, Wyoming. She passed away at the age of 95 Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Central Wyoming Hospice.
She was raised on the Haines Family Homestead on Coates Road at the base of Casper Mountain. This is where she started her love of animals, especially horses. At 10 years of age she trained her own horse, Diamond, thus beginning her many years of training and riding, until the age of 72. Pat passed on her love of horses to her daughter, Althea, who became a very accomplished rider and trainer, winning many awards while competing in 4-H. During that time period, Pat also took up the training of stock dogs (Border Collies). She and her husband Glenn spent many years attending stock dog trials, which paid off one year with her winning first place at "Powder River Sheepherders Fair."
Horses weren't her only passion. Since winters were cold, of course there was snow, and what's a girl supposed to do? Ski of course, and having a brother that was a good skier, that meant skiing on Casper Mountain. Her love of skiing led her to become a ski instructor for 35 years. She became a fully certified ski instructor and a member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America. In addition she loved to ski race.
After 22 years of friendship she married the love of her life and joined in marriage with Glenn R. Bochmann at her daughter's and husband, B.K. Reno's ranch in Belgrade, Montana.
Her many accomplishments included the art of stained glass, sewing, a fantastic gardener, homemaker, and being one step ahead of Glenn in finding arrowheads.
Together, they spent the next 27 years improving the property with gardens, landscaping (over 75 trees), corrals, outbuildings, and other improvements to their home.
Knowing that time waits for no man, they both knew that someday they would have to move into town, and in 2002 purchased a home in town and in 2005 became "townies".
Pat was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Marge, her brother Bill, son Lynn Frost, daughter Althea (Reno) Morstad, and many cousins and close friends.
She is survived by her husband Glenn and his family, grandson Jesse Reno, granddaughter Jennifer Reno (partner Eric Oberfield), great granddaughter Harper Reno, grandson Justin Frost (wife Hillary Hockema), grandson Vitali Frost, granddaughter Trisha Butcher (husband Jesse Butcher), great grandsons Theodore and Walter Butcher, many nieces and nephews, her special friend Cathy Young, and a host of good friends.
Cremation has taken place at her request, and there no services scheduled.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
