Reginald Kokes passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, at the age of 88 at the Life Care Center of Casper, Wyoming. He was born and raised on a farm in Ord, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolf and Martha Kokes (Zulkoski) as well as his siblings Harold Kokes, Ronald Kokes, and his sister Ruth Kokes.
Reginald is lovingly remembered by his extended family, nieces and nephews; Marty Kokes, Connie Kokes and her children Quinn and Matthew (Michelle), Dan Kokes (Chelle), Nathan Kokes (Jennifer) and their sons Tyler and Luke, Ben Kokes (Julie) and their daughters Collette and Helena, and Stephanie Kokes. He is also survived by Jeanne Kokes Saunders and her son Jeremy Joaquin (Diana) and their children Zoey and Macy.
Reg got an M.S. degree in Chemistry at Creighton University and an M.B.A. At the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Chemical Society. Reggie had many professions throughout his life. He worked as a chemist, statistician, and supervisor. He also worked on the family farm in Ord Nebraska and later for exploration and drilling companies.
His military service consisted of an honorable discharge as Airman First Class, serving from September 28, 1962-April 12, 1963. Reggie was a gentle unassuming man with a sly sense of humor. Reg was also notoriously frugal with himself and graciously generous with others. Reginald’s gentle spirit, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to faith and family left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was devoted to his faith, family, and friends. Reg took an active role in the lives of his nieces, nephews as well as the great nieces and nephews by attending major milestones in their lives.
Reggie loved listening to baseball games and the University of Wyoming football games on the radio. In his spare moments he also liked to research family genealogy.
In lieu of flowers the family is kindly requesting that donations be made to the charity of your choice thereby continuing the mission of charity in Reg’s heart. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. Uncle Reg’s family would also like to acknowledge his many friends in the town of Casper who were his second deeply caring and supportive family.
