In 2004 he and Addie acquired Paradise Valley Liquor and Lounge. After a quail hunting trip with friends to Oklahoma and Arkansas in the winter of 2007 he got the idea to add on "Boots' BBQ" to the Lounge and named it after his loyal friend and companion, his black Pekinese "Boots". In 2014 they closed Boots BBQ and the Lounge and made one large package store.
