Richard Lee "Rich" Finlayson, 74, passed away peacefully at his home in Evansville, Wyoming, on March 16, 2026.

Rich was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and attended Aurora University, where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. In 1986, he moved to Boca Raton, Florida, with his family and later made Wyoming his home.

Rich took pride in working with his hands and helping others, and he could fix or build just about anything. He also enjoyed beginning each morning with a crossword puzzle and rarely missed the chance to solve one. One of Rich’s greatest joys was being a grandfather to Waylon and Rain, whose presence brought immense happiness and joy to his life, just as his presence brought the same to theirs.

Rich is survived by his partner, Deb; his sons, Ryan (Katie) and Ryder (Megan); the mother of his children, Robin; his grandchildren, Waylon and Rain; and his brothers, Martin Finlayson (Gail) and Jim Stancik (Lisa). He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Stancik; his father, Jack Finlayson; and his stepfather, Edward Stancik.

A private family service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Rich will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him, and may we all hold a parting glass in his honor. "Good night and joy be to you all."
