Richard Gene Peterson “Rick” passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026 at the age of 75. Born in Billings, Montana on February 7th, 1951 he was the first child to Richard George Peterson and Rose Alice (Skorupa) Peterson. Rick went to school in Casper. Graduating from Kelly Walsh High School in 1969. Rick was in Boy Scout Troop 81 and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He was also a member of the Casper Troopers from 1966 – 69 leaving as a First Soprano. Rick was a member of the National Ski Patrol on Casper Mountain and for a time in Colorado. Rick worked for Gulf Oil from 1977 – 86 as a Draftsman. While working at Gulf, Rick built a small house just above the narrows on the Platte River just west of Casper. After Gulf Oil left Wyoming, Rick returned to college at Denver Metropolitan received his B.S. as a professional pilot in 1989. In his travels after college, Rick met Jenny Ping in Montana and they were married in October of 1955. Rich and Jenny moved to Las Vegas and resided there until her death in 2003. Rick returned to Casper and resided here until his passing.

Rick is survived by his brother Brion Peterson, Sister Yvonne Pulanco, and numerous extended family members.

Rick was preceded in death by his wife Jenny, parents Richard and Alice Peterson, and sister Vicki Beck.
