Casper

Born under a wandering star on September 22, 1945 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Robert "Bob" E. Entrekin passed away on September 6, 2025, in Casper, Wyoming. His life was a journey of love, adventure, and unforgettable stories.

Bob’s heart belonged to his family and cars. He married Ann on June 6, 1970, his partner in countless road trips, including driving a bus for the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps while Ann chaperoned. They shared a bond that endured every challenge. Bob cherished his daughter, Amber, and welcomed her husband, Marshall, as a son. Ann’s passing in 2022 left a void, but Bob kept her memory alive through stories.

Cars were Bob’s passion. His 1940 Ford hot rod was his pride and joy, but he always dreamed of owning a Corvette, captivated by its sleek design and power. He loved car shows, the Oil City Car Club, and teaching Amber to identify sports cars by their engines’ roar.

Long before chasing road trips, Bob served his country with valor. A decorated U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he earned his Green Beret in Special Forces. Brave and selfless, he carried home both a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart—medals that spoke to his courage under fire and unwavering loyalty to his fellow soldiers.

His career began as a traveling book salesman, followed by topping Pontiac sales nationally, selling greeting cards, and later installing phone and WIC systems and managing Modern Electric’s warehouse. His warm smile and storytelling made every job a personal connection.

Bob cheered fiercely for Casper College basketball and volleyball teams, forging lifelong friendships. His tales—of road trips, humor, or Ann—drew people in, making them feel part of his vibrant world.

Bob leaves behind Amber, Marshall, sister Georgia (Bill), brother Ron (Vicki), nieces, and a legacy of love and laughter. We imagine him and Ann cruising into the sunset in his ’40 Ford, on a highway without end.
