Robert Lee “Bob” Brooks, 78, of Mills, WY passed away November 21, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 11, 1947, in Thermopolis, WY to parents, Hailvina (VaNoy) and Perley Brooks.

Bob was raised on his family’s ranch in Thermopolis and graduated from Thermopolis High School in 1966. He then served in the U.S. Army, where he was trained in Missile Equipment Maintenance and Field Wiring. He received a National Defense Service Medal before being honorably discharged as a Sergeant on May 8, 1969.

He met Connie Darlene Johnson, the love of his life, during rodeo weekend in July of 1973. They were married a few months later on September 29, 1973. They enjoyed living a country lifestyle and raising four beautiful children. Bob loved hunting and fishing and always enjoyed a good western. He was a loving man who would do anything for his family.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Connie Brooks; son, Robert Lee Brooks, Jr.; daughter, Tonya (Bryan) Mothershead; daughter, Tammy (Ryan) Schelling; son, Travis Brooks; grandchildren, Chase Schlautmann, Ashley Mothershead, Wyatt Brooks, Parker Mothershead, Austyn Brooks, Owen Brooks, Serenity Brooks, and Logan Brooks; sister, Linda (Jim) Willis; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bob will be laid to rest with full military honors in Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery. Date and time will be announced at a later date.
