Roberta Frances King

Roberta Francis King (Grisamer), age 73, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Roberta, also known as Bert, was born on January 26, 1952, in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to Phyllis C. Grisamer and Robert E. Grisamer.

Roberta was raised in Jackson Hole, where she lived with her mother, now Phyllis Clark, and her stepfather, Bill Clark. After completing high school, she continued her education and earned her beautician’s license.

Roberta married Robert H. Vroman Jr., and together they settled in Shoshoni, Wyoming, where they raised their four children for a time: Penny, Brandy, Robby, and Micah.

During her years in Shoshoni, Roberta was known for her love of gardening, teaching Sunday School at First Baptist Church of Shoshoni, creating amazing cakes, taking care of a mail carrier route and running a beauty shop for a couple years and caring deeply for her children. Following her divorce from Robert, she relocated to other areas of Wyoming, continuing to provide for her family through various positions, including waitress, housekeeper, construction worker, bus driver, and finally as a dispatcher for WRTA, where she retired.

Roberta loved reading, playing cribbage, working as a beautician, bowling, crafting, watching NFL games and western movies, celebrating holidays, listening to country and gospel music, and spending time with animals. She enjoyed camping, hunting, four-wheeling, and above all, cherished her family and her faith in the Lord. She had a big heart, was deeply compassionate, and brought joy wherever she went. Roberta appreciated the simple things in life, treasured making memories, and was a blessing to all who knew her.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Melton King; her parents; her brother, Pete; her sister, Debbie; and her son, Robert H. Vroman (Robby).

She is survived by her children: Penny Vroman; Brandy Raby (Ken Raby); and Micah Vroman (Autumn Vroman); her stepchildren: Luke, Monte and Shane and their families; her grandchildren: Paetra Vroman Lucas, Kira Vroman Lucas, Peter Raby, Eli Raby, Jaden Vroman, Dacey Vroman, Jordan Vroman, and Keeley Vroman; and her siblings: sisters Linda, Carroll, Rhonda, Donis, Cindy, and Vicki; and brothers Mark, Renn, and Wade; her life-long friends Ken and Carol Shimek.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Dubois, Wyoming, on July 25, 2026. All are welcome to attend and share memories of our mom with us. For planning purposes, if you are able to join us, please contact Micah Vroman. If you are unable to notify us in advance, please come anyway.
