Roger Allen Bowman

Roger was the youngest of 6 children born to Jim and Jean Bowman, who were originally from Ft Morgan, CO. Roger came into this world on October 3, 1956 in Galesburg, IL, where his father was in training for an administration position with the railroad. Moving often from state to state, Roger spent his growing up years in Illinois, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Arizona.

Almost from the very start, Roger was destined to take center stage. At just under 3 months of age, he was featured as baby Jesus in the nativity scene at the First Presbyterian Church in Galesburg.

His caring heart, and intense desire to be on TV motivated Roger to "help Jerry's kids" by volunteering many years at local stations to serve as a runner or even answer telephones for the annual Jerry Lewis Telethon for people with muscular distrophy.

Inspired by The Partridge Family and other young singing groups, music became a big part of Roger's life. Eventually, he aspired to the idea of having his own band, selling records and giving concerts. He had a dream one night that told him to name his band THE PEOPLES' DREAMS.

Roger surprised everyone by being a great promoter. He succeeded in getting invited to the local talent stage at the Arizona State Fair and was invited back to perform there for 16 years!!! In recent years, Roger was invited to sing at weddings, sing solos and participate in his church choir, and delight the audiences at various karaoke venues.

Roger was a wonderful example of the value of our dreams for creating a life. He would want to remind all of us to honor, grow and share our dreams, because each one of us has something that is needed in this world today.

Roger is survived by siblings Linda Dixon in Colorado, Jim Bowman, Jr in Wyoming, Jerry Bowman in Washington state, Susan Nield in Dayton , Wyoming, and his best friend and sister/guardian Peggy Strosnider, who lives at Meadow Acres near Casper, and numerous nieces and nephews.
