Ronald Albert Ashenfelter Sr., 79, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away peacefully at home on July 3, 2026.
Born on September 21, 1946, in Wichita, Kansas, Ronald was the son of Albert James Ashenfelter and Glenna Irene Thompson. Throughout his life, he was known as a hardworking, dependable man who dedicated his career to maintenance and geomatics. His dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic earned the respect of coworkers and friends alike.
Above all, Ronald was devoted to his family. He will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, and steadfast willingness to help others. Whether through his example, his guidance, or simply the time he spent with those he loved, he leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, resilience, and love that will continue through the generations of his family.
Ronald shared 57 years of marriage with the love of his life, Linda Kay Ashenfelter. Although Linda preceded him in death, the love they shared and the life they built together remain an enduring part of his legacy. This year would have marked their 56th wedding anniversary, a testament to a lifetime of love, commitment, and devotion. The family finds comfort in knowing they are together once again.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Albert James Ashenfelter and Glenna Irene Thompson; his brother, Jerry Ashenfelter; his sister, Jaydean Bostwick; and his beloved wife, Linda Kay Ashenfelter.
He is survived by his brother, Keith Ashenfelter; his children, Frank Ashenfelter, Ronald "Ron" Ashenfelter Jr., and Shannon Ashenfelter; his grandchildren, Coly, Kalie, Jessica, Darron, and Johnathon; and his great-grandchildren, Owen, Jayden, Blake, Damion, Aspin, Thomas, MaKenzie, Rodney, and Crimzlyn. Each of them will forever cherish his memory and carry forward the love, wisdom, and values he shared throughout his life.
In accordance with Ronald's wishes, he will be cremated, and his ashes will be laid to rest at Buffalo Cemetery in Buffalo, Kansas.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
