Ryan W. Howsden

Ryan William Howsden, 29, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away on August 2, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Ryan was born on November 26, 1996, in Tooele, Utah.

Ryan was full of life from the moment he entered this world until the moment he left it. He had a larger-than-life personality, a love for adventure, and a way of leaving an impression on everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.

Ryan was a welder and welding instructor, a career that allowed him to share both his skills and his knowledge with others. Outside of work, Ryan was happiest outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and especially riding his motorcycle on the open road. But as much as Ryan loved those things, nothing compared to the love he had for his two beautiful daughters, Madalyn and Harper. They were truly the light of his life, his greatest pride, and his greatest love.

Above all else, Ryan was a family man. Some of the best memories of him are found in ordinary moments that became anything but ordinary simply because Ryan was there. Whether he was riding motorcycles with his oldest sister Nicole and brother-in-law KC, baking cookies with his older sister Courtney, playing cribbage with his dad, or spending time with his younger sister Haylee, Ryan loved being surrounded by his family.

Ryan was raised in a family overflowing with love and acceptance. He befriended two people (Bobby and Colton) in elementary school who eventually became far more than friends—they became brothers. Those friendships stood the test of time, and they remained among Ryan’s closest and most treasured relationships throughout his life.

Ryan had unmistakable pride and joy for his two daughters. They were the center of his world, and the love he had for them was evident to everyone around him. His legacy will continue through them and through the countless stories, memories, laughter, and love he leaves behind.

Even in death, Ryan continued to give to others. Ryan was a registered organ donor, and through the selfless gift of donation, his organs went on to save the lives of others. It was one final act of giving from a man who lived with a big heart. Though his family must now learn to live without him, there is comfort in knowing that because of Ryan, others were given more time, more memories, and another chance in life. In that way, Ryan’s light did not go out on August 2. It continues to shine through the lives he saved and the people who will carry a part of him with them.

Ryan was preceded in death by his mother, Lori Howsden, as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents.

He is survived by his father, William Howsden; Brittney Marlow and their daughters, Madalyn and Harper Howsden; his sisters Nicole (KC) Hodges, Courtney Salo (Matt James), and Haylee Howsden; his brothers Bobby (Hope) Reay, Colton (Kenzie) Jones, and Tyler Hanson; along with his nephews and nieces, Kaden, Jersey, Kacey, Bentley, Therin, Trinity, Jaxton, Ophelia, Onyx, and Joseph; and his great-niece, Emery.

Ryan will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone whose life was made a little brighter, louder, funnier, or more adventurous simply because he was in it. His absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled.

And somewhere in all those memories will always be a story that begins with, “Remember that time Ryan …”

A Celebration of Life honoring Ryan will be held on September 5, 2026, from 1–5 P.M. at the Hilton Garden Inn 1150 N Poplar St Casper, Wyoming.

In true Ryan fashion, motorcycles are welcome.
