Sandra "Sandy" Therese (Reynolds) DeBlaker
July 18, 1944 – April 21, 2025
Sandy DeBlaker, 80, of Glenrock, Wyoming, passed away peacefully in Casper on April 21, 2025. Born in Chicago, Illinois, she was adopted at 13 months by Leo and Agnes Reynolds. After her father’s passing in 1955, Sandy and her mother moved to Rawlins, Wyoming, to be closer to family.
A 1963 graduate of Rawlins High School, Sandy went on to complete secretarial school at Parks College. She built a distinguished career as a secretary and office manager, working at Minot Air Force Base (ND), in New Orleans (LA), and at Lowry AFB (CO), earning multiple performance awards throughout her career. During Sandy’s professional career, she earned many awards including, but not limited to, the AFPRO Excellence Award 1978, the Sustained Superior Performance Award 1975, and the Outstanding Performance Award 1969 and 1975.
In 1978, she married retired Air Force Sergeant John D. DeBlaker. They settled in Saratoga, Wyoming, later moving to Rolling Hills and eventually Glenrock. Together, they shared a love for RV travel, exploring the Southwest with their beloved dogs. They also served as superintendents at Ayres Natural Bridge Park before retiring to Glenrock full time.
After John’s passing in 2024, Sandy became the heart of her extended family. To her nieces and nephews—whom she lovingly called “her kids”—she was a steady source of encouragement, thoughtful calls, and unwavering love.
If you knew Sandy, you were likely in her prayers. Her kindness, quiet generosity, and deep attentiveness left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Sandy is preceded in death by her husband John; stepsons Wesley and Tom Deblaker, parents Leo and Agnes; siblings Fr. Bob Reynolds, Fr. George Reynolds, and Margaret “Marty” Sallade; niece Mary Stewart; and nephew-in-law Jamie Karczewski.
She is survived by stepson David Deblaker, nieces and nephews: Mark (Dorothy) Sallade, Teresa (Thomas) Luft, Kathleen Sallade-Karczewski, Guy Sallade, Robert (Kimberly) Sallade, Paul (Victoria) Sallade, Ruth Sallade (Rebecca Hembree), and many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held in August 2nd with a Rosary at 9:30 then service at 10:00 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church, Glenrock Wy. per Sandy’s wishes as “Everyone’s so busy in June and July.”
