Teddy Eugene Purvis, 90, of Casper, WY, passed away on November 20, 2024.
Ted was born in Newkirk, OK, to Ted and Dorothy Purvis on December 6, 1933. He graduated from Arkansas City High School in Kansas in 1951 and later earned an associate degree from Cowley County Community College. Ted then served in the U.S. Army as an engineer, stationed in Alaska. After leaving the military, he returned to Kansas State University, where he met his future wife, Lois Purvis, on a blind date in 1958—Ted often affectionately referred to her as his "blind date from Kansas State."
Ted went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Emporia State University. He worked many years in the oil and gas industry, followed by 15 years of small business ownership, ending his career with a local car dealership. Throughout his life, Ted was known for his work ethic, integrity, and sense of humor.
Ted is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Lois Purvis; his children, Joel (Judy), Thad, Taryn, and Travis (Rebecca) Purvis; his grandchildren, Ethan, Tyler, Austin, Anna, Maddox, Avery, and Sinneh Purvis; three great grandchildren, Emmett, Wyatt and Dixie, with a 4th on the way, as well as many friends and extended family.
A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church on December 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., followed by interment at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery.
Ted Purvis was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, his legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
