Trina Dianne McClain passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on September 29, 2026, at the age of 66.
Trina was born on June 24, 1960, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Richard and Arnetta Baugh. She spent her early years in Idaho before moving to Casper, Wyoming, at the age of 16, where she would make a home, raise her family, and build a life rooted in the people and places she loved.
Growing up as the youngest in a family of brothers helped make Trina tough, adventurous, and more than a little fearless. She was the kind of woman who wouldn’t think twice about cutting the head off a snake or digging a dead squirrel out of a dog’s mouth. She was always ready for whatever came next and rarely intimidated by much of anything. Trina was strong, independent, and capable, and she was never afraid to take life as it came. She loved deeply and wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. She leaves behind countless stories — some sweet, some hilarious, and all uniquely Trina.
In Casper, Trina met the love of her life, Pat McClain. They were married on June 4, 1983, and together built a life filled with family, memories and adventure. Whether they were snowmobiling, hunting, camping or horseback riding, some of their happiest times were spent outdoors and in the mountains they loved so much.
After Pat passed away, no one else ever took his place in her heart. Those closest to her knew how deeply she continued to love and miss him.
Trina spent the first half of her career with Wyoming Machinery and the second with HOERBIGER, where she worked as a Shop Coordinator. She had no interest in retiring at 65 and often said she wanted to keep working to keep her mind active, planning to work until around age 72. She was known for her dedication, kindness and willingness to help others, and for the lasting friendships she formed along the way.
Family was always at the heart of Trina’s life, and over the last 12 years, being Nana to Jhett and Ob became one of her greatest joys. She loved taking them places and making sure they were having fun — from shopping trips and laser tag to water parks, zip lining and countless adventures together. She shared their love of Marvel and made sure they saw every new movie when it came out. Much of the boys’ traveling and many of their favorite memories were made with Nana by their side. Her love for them was unmistakable, and the time they shared together will stay with them always.
Trina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Patrick McClain; her parents, Richard and Arnetta Baugh; and her brothers, Steve Baugh and Richard Baugh Jr.
She is survived by daughters, Brandy McClain and Ryan Roberts Jenks; grandsons, Jhett and Obrion (Ob) Linaman; brother, Bret (Gayle) Baugh; brother-in-law, Dean (Candace) McClain; sister-in-law, Anita Baugh; brother-in-law, Ben Stockwell; several nieces and nephews; as well as extended family, friends and coworkers who will remember her with love.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Casper Shrine Club, 1501 West 39th Street, Casper, Wyoming.
Purple was Trina’s favorite color, and those attending are invited to wear purple in her honor if they wish.
More than anything, the family wants the day to reflect the stories that made Trina who she was. Friends and family are encouraged to come prepared to share a favorite story, funny memory, or adventure they had with Trina. The day is meant to celebrate her life through the stories, memories, and people who loved her.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Trina are invited to make a memorial donation to Shriners Children’s in her memory.
Trina leaves behind a lifetime of stories and love. And while she will be deeply missed here, those who loved her can smile at the thought that after waiting so many years, she finally gets to dance with Pat again.
