Vernon Neal Boyce passed away on June 13, 2026 in Casper, Wy. He was born on December 1,1928 to Wilfred and Marie (Woods) Boyce in Oklahoma City, Ok. He came to Casper to get a job with Haliburton and worked there for a few years. Than he met Gloria Gould and it was love at first sight and they married on June 25, 1950. He got an associates degree in optometry and he and Gloria owned and operated the original Tastee Freeze in Casper from 1962 to 1980. Than he became the maintenance man at the Natrona County Public Library until he retired 20 years later.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two older sisters, Audrey (Charles) Millspaugh and Barbara (Earnest) Wheeler. His loving wife Gloria died June 16, 2020, 9 days short of their 70th wedding anniversary. He is survived by his only son with Catherine Bodenhamer, Cougar Neal Boyce and his wife Jennifer and his 3 grandchildren Kristopher Neal Angelos Boyce, Marcus Stephan Boyce and Bella Elaine Boyce.

He was very kind and gentlemanly. Very straightforward and an extremely hard worker in all he did. Even at 95 years old we would catch him out mowing or watering his yard. He was very opinionated and a dedicated 5 o'clock news watcher. He loved fishing and hunting and snowmobiling in the winter. He was an animal lover of all kinds. They raised rabbits and went to rabbit shows all over. He had goats and horses, a mule named Ruthie, cats and dogs. He loved the last dog he had, Sheena, so much and when she passed away in April he couldn't go on much longer without her. His kindness was so great he would give the shirt off his back if they needed it. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

There will be no services per his request. Any donations should be directed to Central Wyoming Hospice who were so kind to him in his last days.
