Vicki L. Williams

February 7, 1952 — February 19, 2026

Vicki Lea Williams (Forson), 74, a beloved mother, grandmother and woman of deep faith, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026, in Casper, Wyoming surrounded by her family. She was born on February 7, 1952, in Seminole, Oklahoma to David Forson and Sylvia Forson (Wilson). They were a family of faith in Jesus Christ, known for generous hearts and open doors.

Vicki grew up in Hobbs, New Mexico with her parents and three younger siblings (Karen, David, and Julie) until moving to Casper, Wyoming when she was sixteen. She attended and graduated from Kelly Walsh High School before marrying R. Quay Hornbuckle at College Heights Baptist Church in 1970. They moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico where Jackie and Todd were born. After returning to reside in Glenrock, Wyoming, Rhonda was born in Casper. Vicki and Quay divorced and then she married Michael Orona in 1982 in Casper and completed her motherhood with Stacy and Teresa, the youngest of her five children, both born in Casper, Wyoming.

Vicki was a fierce supporter of all five of her children, blinded by any fault they might have had and quick to correct anyone who said otherwise. She convinced them that there was nothing they could not achieve and encouraged them to dream big. Though she excelled as mother, she triumphed as “Yaya” and “Grammy” to fourteen grandchildren. She supported each of their dreams and unique spirits and is known for saying that she “lived through their stories and adventures”. She would watch sporting events in person when she could or utilize various media and applications to keep up with all of them. Through every chapter of life, she poured herself into her children and grandchildren with unwavering love.

Vicki worked for 17 years at Wyoming Medical Center and later earned two associate degrees and a bachelor’s degree then pursued her master’s degree in Billings, Montana. She dedicated years of her professional life as a substance abuse counselor at CWCC and Drug Court in Casper, providing counseling services in Missouri, as well as ten fulfilling years in Prison Ministry- a calling she described as one of the most meaningful of her life. Her role as a counselor and chaplain highlighted her gift of mercy and her empathic heart. She was a natural and skilled listener and would give just about anything she had to anyone in need. Her humor was one of her trademark traits teaching her children to laugh instead of cry about life’s unwanted challenges. She modeled and taught resilience, determination and unconditional love. She knew unconditional love through her walk with Jesus.

In retirement, Vicki reflected often and openly on God’s grace in her life – the grace that carried her through triumphs and failures alike, through joy and grief, always back to her faith. She maintained cherished friendships for decades, including a special bond with dear friends Dama and Siri, spanning more than thirty years. Her faith, her family, and these friendships were her greatest treasures.

Vicki lived her faith out loud. She believed with her whole heart that salvation plus forgiveness equals grace – a gift freely given by a God she trusted completely. She leaves behind a legacy not of perfection, but of perseverance; not a life without struggle, but of a life overflowing with grace. Her children, grandchildren, and all who knew her carry forward her radiant example of Christian love.

She has joined her parents in the presence of the Lord and is survived by her siblings, children, grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends and colleagues. She is survived by her siblings, Karen and her husband Lanny Wilkin, David and his wife Lisa Forson, and Julie and her husband James Voorhies.

She is the proud mother of Jackie and her husband Thom McAleer, R. Todd and his wife Tamara Hornbuckle, Rhonda and her husband Alan Wilson, Stacy and her husband Colin Gransbery, and Teresa and her husband Doug Schumacker. Her beloved grandchildren are R. Braxton Hornbuckle, Addison McAleer, Samuel McAleer, Brynn Hornbuckle, Ryan McAleer, Olivia Schumacker, Madelynn Hornbuckle, Bennett Gransbery, Sylvie Wilson, Grant Schumacker, Ethan Wilson, Harlan Gransbery, Victoria “Tori” Schumacker, and Quinn Gransbery.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at Highland Park Community Church on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 10 am.
