Willie B Mapp

March 19, 1952 — January 9, 2024

Willie B. Mapp - 3/19/1952 - 1/9/2024

Willie B. Mapp, 71, of Casper, Wyoming received his wings on January 9, 2024. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at his residence in Casper, WY.

He was born March 19, 1952 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to his parents, the late R.B. Mapp and Daisy Bell Style. Along with his mother and father, he is preceded in death by brothers, Albert Gill, Milton Mapp, Jody Mapp, sisters, Mae Lee Hunt, (formerly Mapp) and Zebadine, “Zebbie” Myers, (formerly Mapp).

Willie B. is survived by his his loving brother, Michael Mapp and children, son, Dulani Labar Mapp, his daughter, Abeni Leah Mayfield, (formerly Mapp), daughter in-law, Johnetta Mapp, son in law, Mikelle Robert Mayfield, granddaughters, A’ahna Nichole Reynolds, Cyncere Beverly Reynolds, Zyan Sierra Reynolds, Malayah Jasmine Reynolds and Emma Abeni Mapp.

First and foremost, Willie B. was a man of God and a faithful believer. It was amazing to grow with him as he grew closer to the Lord. He wanted it to be clear that he loved the Lord, Jesus Christ with all of his heart. Through his repentance followed forgiveness, peace, understanding, wisdom and joy.

His children and grandchildren were the light in eyes, pep in his step and the joy in his heart. It is no coincidence that all of his children and grandchildren are all trailblazers, high achievers, outspoken and brilliant. After all, Willie B. was their father and grandfather.

Willie B. was raised in Casper, WY and attended Natrona County High school in Casper, WY in which he was an outstanding track and field athlete.

His athleticism did not stop in high school. Many people of all ages, young and old were frequently challenged in fun to a good ole’ 50-100 meter sprint during family gatherings and at barbecues that he would host.

Willie B. dedicated many years and went on to retire from Casper Community College where he diligently worked in the college’s maintenance and landscaping department. He was a hard working man that provided for his family.

Willie B.’s  outgoing, playful and charismatic personality could light up a room. He was the life of EVERY party and loved to dance, sing and most of all make people laugh.

Spending time with family and friends was the highlight of his life and he left a mark on everyone he met. He was hand’s down the best story teller in town!

In his senior assisted living community, (where he resided),  he was loved by the residents, staff and all of his therapists and CNA’s. He enjoyed gifting homemade “hot plates” for his residential community. These plates consisted of but not limited to: cornbread, black-eyed peas, ham hocks and collard greens.

As a devoted father and grandfather, Willie B. absolutely adored his family and would tell anyone who would listen. It was no secret that his family was his world.

Our father was a classic man, with an infectious laugh and magnetic aura whose spirit will shine through us eternally.

On behalf of my brother Dulani Mapp and our entire family, we would like to thank you all for your continued prayers, thoughts, kind words, flowers and cards as we mourn the passing of our father,  Willie B. Mapp ❤️

A Celebration of Life Get Together will be held in Casper, WY during the summer of 2024. The specific date, time and location will be announced closer to the event.

We hope that time will allow for all of our father’s associates, friends and family to make arrangements to attend the celebration! See you soon!! ❤️
