Nancy Whetstone

Nancy Jean Whetstone, age 68, died peacefully of natural causes on February 7, 2020 at her home in Mills, WY.

Nancy is survived by her sister Susan Fischer (Ed) of Sonora, California, sister Dianna Fischer (Fred) of Anderson, California, sister Lynda Williams (Mark) of Casper, Wyoming, and brother Kelly Schramm (Paula) of Windsor, Colorado and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  She is preceded in death by her grandparents Bill & DeeVee Harrison and Homer & Gertrude Whetstone, mother June Ann Harrison-Whetstone-Schramm and father Richard Whetstone.

Nancy was born in Chadron, Nebraska to June Ann and Dick on October 22, 1951.  Nancy grew up in the Oelrichs and Hot Springs, South Dakota area and graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1969.  Nancy spent many years working in the automotive industry and at ARCO’s Black Thunder Coal Mine, living in Wright, Wyoming for many of her working years.  She eventually left the mining industry and finished her working career in automotive supply sales until retirement, living in Casper until her death.

Nancy truly loved traveling the western United States in whatever automobile she had at the time. She was meticulous and particular about the maintenance and upkeep of her investments. Nancy enjoyed many outdoor activities including gold panning, hunting, fishing, camping, stock car races, and just exploring.  She was an avid Rockies baseball and Denver Bronco football fan.  She did enjoy gambling in Deadwood from time to time.  Her family will always remember her fondly as Aunt Nancy with her unique take on life and what happiness is.
No services will be held at this time​.   Burial of cremains next to family will take place sometime in the Spring of 2020, at Hillside Cemetery in Oelrichs, South Dakota.
