Marcia Anne Lynch, age 93, passed away on (Sat.) 04-15-23 at her home in Casper. Marcia was born in New York City to Harold and Martha Sherman on 08-26-1929. She went to college at the U of Arkansas (in Fayetteville) where she met, and eventually married her first husband Wendell R. Smith. They married in 1949. In 1954 they moved to Casper where Wendell worked as a geologist.
Marcia worked at the Casper Boy Scout office for 5 years and later established a Day Care business at home. Marcia & Wendell were also Foster Parents and took care of many foster babies throughout the years. They were together until Wendell's Passing in 1982. In 1987 Marcia met and married her 2nd husband David "Les" Lynch. Together they cared for Marcia's elderly parents (in Mountain View, Ark.). Marcia & Les enjoyed occasional travels & camping trips around Arkansas. Les introduced Marcia to the game of Golf and she became an active and enthusiastic golfer. In 1995 Les passed away. Marcia remained in Mountain View until 2005 and then moved back to Casper. She considered Casper her "Home".
She loved to spend time at the Family cabins on Casper Mt. Her cousin Mary Louise Bain would come to Casper every Feb. and Marcia and Mary would spend several Winter weeks at the cabin. They spent time cross country skiing to the far peripheries of the Mountain. In the Summer Marcia enjoyed bird watching and was an active member of the Audubon society. She was an avid reader and studied all types of religious philosophy.
There will be a Family Memorial service, at the cabins, at a later date. Marcia was preceded in death by First husband Wendell, Second husband Les, her parents Harold & Martha, sister Mary Kobiella and Daughter Janet Kopriva. She is survived by son Todd, son Mike (& wife Vicki), Granddaughters Candace (husband Bill) and Janelle (husband Garon), and Great grand children Lauren & Eli, and Tori & Adrion. She is also survived by extended family Eileen & Will Mosley and daughters Danielle & Michelle. Memorial donations may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice & Transitions.
